George Double Digits - Happy 10th Birthday

I cannot believe that my baby boy has turned 10 years old. It's more unfair because he looks and acts like he is much older. I love George. He is sweet and smart, kind and funny. We spend a lot of time together driving to baseball practice and home again twice a week. During the season we drive together almost everyday to games and practices all over Utah and SLC counties, and the whole family takes off and drives to tournaments hours and hours away and in different states.

George loves baseball, so this year he got a new catcher's mitt and a complete catcher's gear set. He has traditionally played third base, but he wants to be a deeper player and learn a new position and play third and catcher. He is also known as a big hitter and gets to be the fourth or fifth batter each game. Even though he plays up a year and is sometimes 2 years younger than other players, he remains one of the best players on the team.

George is a good friend to me and to everyone around him. His brothers adore him, he is well respected and loved by his school teacher and friends, and he has found a new brotherhood within his baseball team. George has also recently made the Bantam Basketball A team that is being coached by the high school coach. George is only in 4th grade, but if he can stick with this team, he has a chance to play high school ball.

I love you George, I hope you had a fun, covid-style birthday. We bought you nice gifts, went to dinner to Cubbys as a family, got milkshakes on the way home, and played pandemic the board game as a family.
