Easter Holidays in Australia

Happy Easter! Look at how yummy those look... but don't worry, I didn't cheat. But there's no harm in just looking is there?

I am currently the Primary President for the ward here in Sydney. Primary is going well for the most part. We are loving the good attendance, and the scripture hero programs is going very well,

I have had some really powerful and spiritual moments in Primary lately. Easter Sunday was really special for me, and I know that the children could feel the power of the Holy Ghost as we spoke of the Saviour and His resurrection. As I was teaching and feeling the Saviour's love a scripture came to mind (3 Nephi 11:17.) "Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus, and did worship him." I know that these special moments are gifts for being able to teach these beautiful and pure children. I love them all so much, and I am grateful to have this opportunity to be with them each Sunday.

We made the boys wait until after church to find their baskets. I just think it was good to first think about the Saviour, then they could have some fun and find their chocolate bunnies. The Easter Bunny hid the baskets on the balcony. Sneaky bunny, the boys looked everywhere indoors but couldn't find their Easter baskets until they finally thought of going outside.

The week after Easter, the Primary was in charge of the ward activity. I thought it would be a blast to have a "jumping castle" the Australian term for bouncy house. So we did, we organized a really fun ward activity, The Bouncy House BBQ! It was a huge success. Lots of people came, and the kids just had so much fun! We also had an art project so the kids could go from a thrill to something calm. Also, I learned a new Aussie term, "ARVO" sounds like “ah-vo”and means afternoon.

It has been a busy but really enjoyable Easter holiday! I have also managed to start my new food blog. CrohnsKitchen.com It has been enjoyable sharing my thoughts and experiences with Crohn's, and how I have learned to live with it by following the SCD or the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I am adding new recipes every week, and hope to soon add in videos! It helps me be excited about eating healthily!

  1. Your activity looks so fun! You are the person to be in charge of a party, because you know how to party. William looks so grown up in these pictures. It's probably the haircut. Henry looked like such a big boy after he got his long locks chopped off over the summer. Happy Easter!
