Christmas in July

This past weekend was our ward conference. As a part of that conference, my friend Olivia and I were in charge of the Saturday night activity. We decided to have the theme Christmas in July! It was a really fun activity. We had a family in the ward bring all their Christmas decorations and I went to Costco and purchased rolls, pumpkin pie, and apple pie and Olivia picked up the table cloths, prizes for the ugly jumper competition and ice cream to go with the dessert. We had everyone bring a dish that reminded them of Christmas, and we had everything from salad, to potato dishes, roasted vegetables, KFC chicken, and pizza hut. We had plenty of food for all and it was great. Along with everything else, we set up a sugar cookie table, so the primary children could decorate their sugar cookies during the party. The kids loved this and spend the whole time decorating and eating the sugar cookies. If the kids weren't decorating cookies, they were in the courtyard playing all sorts of schoolyard games. My boys really had a fun night, and were so happy to have come to the party.

The next morning was Sunday, and we had a surprise visitor. Sister Bonnie Cordon, the second counsellor of the General Primary Presidency joined us. It was wonderful to have her with us. She has such a loving spirit and kindness about her. She strengthen our Primary and we were grateful to have met her.

She's not the Queen or the First Lady but she is one of our influential, stalwart leaders of the church. Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, 2nd Counsellor of the General Primary Presidency came and visited Summer Hill Ward today for our Ward Conference
