Camping at Rockport Reservoir
Camping is something that Stan and I both love. Camping is a lot of work, but with our new lifestyle (Stan working from home) we can work as a team to prepare and clean up together. I have loved getting away from everything and just spending time together without screens or any distractions. There is something wonderful about being outdoors, swimming and fishing in the lake, and eating around a campfire at night.
We went to Rockport twice this summer. The first time with just us, and the second with friends. We brought our puppies, and both times they've done very well. They stay close to us, and did not cause any trouble. The boys are amazing campers, and even bringing a two month old, then a month later a three month old, didn't slow us down too much. Gregory and George set up and take down camp with Stan, and I take care of the two younger ones and clean up the kitchen and food. This last time we were able to clean everything and take down camp in about 1hr 15mins. Not too bad for a family of 6 and two puppies. The boys ALL but Tiberius caught fish and it was magical watching them all get so excited about fishing. They also spend hours swimming in the reservoir. The first time camping, we went in July I also swam for a long time. I love swimming and I miss the ocean, and so it was very fun to get to do this.
Both times camping this summer, we had one stormy night. It's kind of fun to have storms roll in, and have to keep together in your tent for shelter. This past time we had a really crazy wind and rain storm our first night so we ended up playing card games together and listening to the rain fall. I just had the best time, and it was one of my favorite moments camping. The boys really loved playing cards with the family too. I remember as a kid playing card games in the tent because it was a rainy night, and it was nice to relive that moment with my kids. The boys played card games together afterwards whenever they could.
William and me have the SAME SMILE. I love this boy so much!
Such a wonderful baby! We couldn't go camping if he was grumpy, but he's so great and made it fun for everyone.

George was determined to catch a fish, and it took until our second camping trip, but he did it! He caught a fish completely on his own.

Bouncing on a trampoline sounded funner than it ended up being haha. It was still fun, but it's really hard to get any bounce on a water tramp.
